X&Y crafts – Color Challenge #1

Today I decided to try something new…a color challenge!

For my card I decided to use the colors Calypso Coral, Flirty Flamingo, and Sahara Sand from Stampin’ Up!

As always, I start with my card base. I cut a piece of basic white cardstock at 4 1/4″ x 11″ and scored it at 5 1/2″. Next, I cut a piece of basic black cardstock at 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and adhered it to my card base. I also cut a piece of the Love You Always specialty designer series paper at 4″ x 5 1/4″ and adhered it to my card. Then, I cut a piece of basic white cardstock at 2 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ and layered it on top of the specialty designer series paper as shown in the picture.

For my next step, I stamped the flowers (one large and one small) on a piece of calypso coral cardstock. I repeated this process on a piece of flirty flamingo cardstock. Next, I stamped the leaves on a piece of garden green cardstock. Once I had everything stamped, I used my Always dies to cut the flowers and the leaves. I then adhered the leaves and flowers to my card, I stacked them so they would mainly be layered over the basic white cardstock.

Next, I took a 1 7/8″ x 1/2″ piece of Sahara sand cardstock and stamped my sentiment using memento black ink. The “just a little note…” sentiment is from the Lots of Heart stamp set (which is available as a bundle with the Many Hearts dies). I adhered the sentiment to the bottom right corner of my card. Finally, I embellished my card using some pearl basic jewels.

I am really loving the way these three colors came together! Let me know what you think in the comment section below.

Have a great day!
